To be honest, this isn't a very compelling article but it was interesting to see the relationship between volunteer work and community. This article speaks about community
changes appearing after one involves themselves in volunteer and service
work. It is a research project that
shows the relationship between service and community and their role in service
projects. Many members of congregations are motivated to become involved in
service projects in order to express their faith but in reality service
strengthens and deepens one’s faith in their community. These aspects relate back to Jesus and how he
was always trying to help the poor and destitute which has been the theme of
this week’s class.
